Thank you for your interest in being part of the Measuring Inclusion Book (MIB) Launch Festival on September 23! As someone who is familiar with my work and who has significant influence in DEI and related areas (HR, talent management, the future of work, people analytics, …), I would love for you to be a part of this special event.

My ask is for you to join me on Zoom for a 30-min “mini-session” at a time of your choice between 9:00am and 5:30pm US/ET on September 23, 2024. Each mini-session will feature 1-3 other influencers. I will ask each of you to spend a minute or two talking about your work and organization, and how the book is relevant to your efforts. We will then engage in free-flowing conversations and take questions from the audience, if appropriate. In appreciation for your participation I am happy to offer some perks and benefits—some to you as an individual, some for your community (see below).

Whether or not you are able to join me at the Launch Festival, I would also be immensely grateful if you could invite your “community” (an organization, a company, a newsletter, or even just your followers on social media) to join the Launch Festival. This will help us spread the word about this important work, amplifying its potential impact in stopping the DEI backlash and driving measurable progress.

  • We think Measuring Inclusion has the unique potential to stop the anti-DEI backlash and start driving measurable progress. But ideas are useless unless people hear about them.

    Our goal with the MI Book Launch Festival is to generate a lot of visibility and interest in this work.

    We saw an opportunity to organize something much more fun, much bigger, and more impactful than organizing a bunch of individual launch events.

    We expect to draw a large audience with engaging content, special deals, give-aways, and other valuable experiences.

  • Our goal is to engage organizations, influencers, communities, corporations, DEI practitioners, and anyone else who cares about DEI, and who is willing to help us spread the word about Measuring Inclusion, its unique approach, and its potential as the solution to stop the anti-DEI backlash and start making measurable progress.

  • MIB Launch Festival Partners like yourself will enjoy a number of benefits:

    • Exposure to a large audience: we aim to host 20-30 influencers like yourself and their communities. Participants can drop in and out any time between 9:00am and 5:30pm, creating a lot of visibility for you.

    • Your community members will have an opportunity to purchase the Kindle version of Measuring Inclusion for only $0.99, and in so doing they’ll help it achieve best-seller status.

    • Your logo will appear on the MIB Launch Festival page and on the main MIB page as a SupportingPartner.

    • After the launch, we will mail you five complimentary copies of the print version, to use as give-aways or as you see fit.

    • A 40% discount ($15/copy) on bulk orders of at least 20 copies, with free customization for orders of 50 or more copies.

    • With any bulk order of 20+ copies, I will do a free webinar and Q&A for your community

    • A free “partner package” for the DIRC24 conference (online, 10/30/24) which includes:

      • Your logo on the DIRC24 page

      • 10 free DIRC24 tickets you can share with colleagues, partner, clients, …

  • If you are willing to support this exciting event, here is what I need from you:

    • Select your preferred 30-min slot between 9am and 5pm US/ET using this online calendar. Note: we have a limit of 4 people per time slot—grab yours soon. Let me know if none of the times work and we can try to move people around.

    • Fill out the MI Book Launch Festival Partner Sign-up form to provide basic information about you and your community/organization.

    • We will send you a media kit, including some images and sample language, that you can use to invite your community to the MI Book Launch Festival, and to share on social media.

    • Sometime prior to the event, please skim the PDF galleys or the PDF summary, to find a quote or some data or a specific idea that you think is particularly relevant to members of your community. You will be asked to share this in your mini-session to start the conversation.

    • In addition to the conversation-started, you will be asked to spend a minute or two describing your community or your work, to help get visibility.

  • Prior to the book launch (September 24, 2024), our main goal is to have you take part in our MI Book Launch Festival.

    After the launch, we would like to stay in touch occasionally to let you know about collaboration opportunities, special events, discounts, and other relevant items. We expect a very low volume of communications, and you can always opt out.

  • On September 23, 2024, the Kindle version of Measuring Inclusion will be launched. On that day only, our publisher, Practical Inspiration, will drop the price to $0.99.

    The goal is to push sales in a concentrated time to gain "best seller" status on Amazon, which helps a lot with subsequent publicity.

    Rather than simply sending out social media and email blasts on that day, we thought it would be more valuable and effective to create a special event and engage influencers and communities, so that we are generating value rather than simply asking for a favor.

    Note: Please do not share information about the September 23 price drop, to avoid discouraging pre-orders. Anyone who pre-orders the kindle copy before 9/23 will still get the $0.99 price because of Amazon's price-match policy. And anyone who pre-orders one of the print versions will probably not care about the eBook deal, or may decide to buy it to have both formats.

  • The entire day is going to be a sequence of mini-sessions. Each mini-session is a 30-min slot featuring 2-4 influencers.

    You as an influencer only need to commit to a specific 30-minute slot. Of course you are welcome to attend any other parts of the event.

  • We would like you to promote the entire event, but you should make it clear to your community when you are speaking.

    By making the entire day open, we hope that more members of your community will be able to participate than if they only attend a single mini-session.

    Conversely, we expect that your mini-session will have an audience that is not just from members of your community. This will give you an opportunity to promote your community with a broader audience.

  • We are creating some simple media kits and sample messaging. As soon as it's ready we will make it available to anyone who signs up for a mini-session and completes the MI Book Launch Festival Partner Sign-up Form.

  • The format is purposefully flexible, so that attendees can choose to drop in whenever they want and stay as long as they want.

  • We will start mailing copies after the official launch date. It may take a couple of weeks.

  • The MI Book Launch Festival page includes links to the event registration page (on Eventbrite).

    Registrants will receive a link to the Zoom event.

  • There is no cost for anyone to attend the MI Book Launch Festival.

  • Yes, we will record all the mini-sessions and will make the recordings available later in the Fall.
